Founded in 2003, the Modigliani Quartet is Artistic Director of the famous Rencontres Musicales of Evian since 2014 and has been giving masterclasses at the CNSM in Paris since November 2017. Thanks to a pool of patrons, the members of the Modigliani Quartet have the chance to perform on extraordinary instruments: Amaury Coeytaux plays a Guadagnini violin built in 1773, Loic Rio, an Alessandro Gagliano from 1734, Laurent Marfaing, a Mariani viola from 1660 and François Kieffer, a Matteo Goffriller "ex-Warburg" cello from 1706. In the middle of this otherwise classical programme (Haydn and Brahms), the Modigliani Quartet will present a modern piece, Terra memoria by Finnish composer Kaija Saariaho.
